michaelwardieRogers
Professional self-taught photographer michaelwardieRogers—snapped his first photograph in 1969 at the historic Woodstock Music and Arts Fair, and he has had camera in hand ever since. Viewing the world at large with career stops as a meteorologist, radio & TV personality (KTVF & CBS 13/Fairbanks, Alaska - KMVT/Twin Falls, Idaho, WMDT/Salisbury, MD), professional truck driver by trade, he offers a unique purview on the world around him. His evocative and ever-growing gallery offers a visual triptych of many miles traveled across our nation, from East to West, from the Pacific Northwest to Florida and every spot in between.
Michael’s online gallery (www.michaelwardierogers.com) features 200 striking images that showcase his innate talent combined with his profound skill with the lens. Included are city lifescapes, nature, wild animals, live action, dusk & night images and among the most inspiring scenic pictorials one can imagine. In addition, via his career blog, he offers a rare explanation of the inspiration for his photographs, the technical execution and perspective on where he was and what he was doing in the moment—often laced with humor and a no-holds-bar writing style that is as entertaining as it is informative. He also regularly displays his work on Facebook, Pinterest, YouTube and 500px.
“This a journey of visualization that explores who I am and how I see life from inside of my tractor trailer, as I make my way from one destination to another,” Michael says. “For example, my presentation of meteorology through pictures gives you a clear and simple understanding about a science that everyone seems to think that they know, yet… weather can't read! My goal is to capture the beauty and malice that Mother Nature dishes out.” In fact, he adds that when taking a picture, music plays in his head—that corresponds with and amplifies the emotion he feels in that moment that he clicks the camera.
